$500 professional KG Gun Kote coating gift card — redeemable on the firearm of the winner’s choice through James “The XDMAN” Nicholas — and a BANISH Speed K (Silencer Central), the full-auto-rated short-barreled-rifle suppressor that the XDMAN reaches for first when he is demoing machine guns to law-enforcement. What you win:one $500 professional KG Gun Kote firearm coating gift card — redeemable on the firearm of the winner’s choice through James “The XDMAN” Nicholas — and one BANISH Speed K SBR suppressor (MSRP $999). Combined retail value is $1,499 before tax. The coating service is fulfilled by James Nicholas; the BANISH Speed K ships through the standard BANISH Suppressors delivery process.
The 4th Morning is built around a simple idea: a rifle deserves to look the way it runs. A factory finish is a compromise — it handles the showroom and the first season, and then it starts to show every scratch, every holster ring, every honest day of use. A professional KG Gun Kote job does two things at once — it adds a thin, ceramic-based armor that resists corrosion and abrasion in a way bluing and parkerizing cannot, and it lets the owner actually choose how the gun looks without giving up the factory roll-marks underneath. Pair that refinished rifle with a Speed K and the same gun that used to be loud enough to wake the neighbors is now quiet enough to train on, short enough to clear a door with, and finished in whatever color combination the winner brings to the bench. The BANISH Speed K is the XDMAN’s first reach for machine-gun demos precisely because it is full-auto rated — it does not flinch when a belt-fed host is emptying a box on it, and it does not flinch when a duty operator runs it hard on a short-barreled AR. Winning this pairing is the rare moment where the rifle in the safe ends the week both better-looking and quieter than the one that went out on Monday morning.

$500 XDMAN KG Gun Kote Coating Gift Card

The $500 XDMAN coating gift card is a professional firearm refinishing service redeemable through James “The XDMAN” Nicholas for a KG Gun Kote finish applied to a firearm of the winner’s choice — pistol, rifle, or shotgun, subject to fit and legal shipping.
Why it matters: KG Gun Kote is a moly-resin based firearms finish applied by a working builder. It is thin enough that factory roll-marks and caliber stampings stay visible under the finish, and durable enough that it is not cosmetic — it materially protects the firearm against surface rust and the everyday wear that a holster, a sling, and a range bag put on a gun. The $500 gift card covers a professional job fulfilled by James Nicholas. Retail value of the gift card: $500.
KG Gun Kote is a moly-resin based thin-film firearm coating that the XDMAN runs in his shop for professional refinishing work. The finish is not there for vanity. It is there to protect the firearm from the two things that quietly ruin guns over a decade: general wear and tear from actually being carried and shot, and rust that forms under a holster, in a bore, or along a bolt carrier group that did not get wiped down after a wet morning in the field. The coating is thin — thin enough that the factory markings, caliber stampings, and manufacturer roll-marks are not buried under paint or lost to build-up. That matters for resale, that matters for regulatory compliance, and that matters for the owner who wants to know what the gun is without having to look it up. What the owner does get to choose is the color combination and the overall look — the finish can be tuned in shades from a flat tactical black through patinated bronzes and custom two-tones that match a specific rifle build or a set of aftermarket controls.
The $500 gift card covers a professional coating job on the firearm of the winner’s choice. Common jobs in that price range include slide-and-controls refinishes on handguns, full-length refinishes on AR-pattern rifles, and two-tone jobs on shotguns. Scope of work is confirmed between the winner and the XDMAN after the winner is announced; the winner is responsible for legally shipping the firearm to James Nicholas and for the return shipment, but the coating labor and the KG Gun Kote materials are covered under the $500 gift card. If the work the winner wants exceeds $500, the difference can be paid out-of-pocket at the XDMAN’s standard rates — the gift card simply applies $500 toward the invoice.

BANISH Speed K SBR Suppressor — Full-Auto-Rated, Titanium, Built Short
The BANISH Speed K is a titanium-bodied, direct-thread short-barreled-rifle suppressor rated full-auto on 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout hosts, engineered specifically for short-barrel SBR, PDW, and pistol-caliber carbine builds where overall length is the deciding factor.
Why it matters: The BANISH Speed K is short — roughly 4 inches overall — and it is full-auto rated, which means it does not need to be babied on a machine gun host or a hard-use duty SBR. Body is 100% Inconel. Diameter is 1.73 inches. Weight is roughly 14 ounces. Mount is direct-thread 5/8×24 for 5.56 hosts. It is backed by a lifetime warranty from BANISH Suppressors. MSRP is $999.
The Speed K exists because most rifle suppressors are built around a 7-to-9-inch can that turns a 10.5-inch short-barreled rifle back into something as long as a full-length carbine. That defeats the entire point of building an SBR. The Speed K answers that problem by compressing the whole sound-reduction architecture into a 4-inch-class body, titanium-bodied to keep weight under control and strong enough to tolerate full-auto fire. For a short-barreled AR-15 in 5.56 NATO, the Speed K adds only a few inches to the overall length — which is why it is the default recommendation for operators running 10.5- or 11.5-inch AR SBRs, MP5-style roller-delayed, and law-enforcement PDW builds where the gun lives in a bag and has to come out ready.
The Speed K is one of my favorite suppressors because it is full-auto rated and, being a machine-gun manufacturer myself, it does not matter what gun I put it on — it can withstand any abuse the XDMAN puts it through. It is one of my favorite suppressors to put on a machine gun when demoing machine guns. That full-auto rating is the part that matters. A can that is not full-auto rated can be cooked by a fast string on a belt-fed host, warped by a too-long burst, or catastrophically fail by the heat cycle a select-fire host generates. The Speed K is designed for that host. It is the can that goes back in the bag at the end of the day and comes out the next morning to do it again.
Beyond the full-auto rating, the Speed K does what a short suppressor has to do. It reduces muzzle blast to the shooter and to everyone on the same range line, which on a 10.5-inch 5.56 SBR is a real safety story — unsuppressed short AR-pattern rifles are genuinely punishing indoors. The inconel construction keeps the can strong all the while keeping back pressure low without overloading the host’s gas system. The included direct-thread mount is the simpler, lighter, more reliable of the two common mount types, and it keeps the can’s centerline tight to the bore for accuracy. On top of that the BANISH Speed K is also HUB compatible meaning the user can choose any HUB mounting system. The Speed K is intended to be run, not stored; the XDMAN’s rule is simple — if the host can take the hit, the Speed K can too.
