52nd Day of Silence: First Look at the Banish VRMT 223 Ti – The Lightest Titanium Varmint Suppressor That You Can Actually Keep Clean

Day 52 of Silencer Central’s 100 Days of Silence — win the BANISH VRMT 223 Ti (MSRP $849). If you hunt coyotes, prairie dogs, or ground squirrels, or just love quiet range days with your favorite .223 bolt gun or AR, today’s prize is built exactly for you. Entry for The 49th Day of Silence opens at 10:00 AM CT and closes at 10:00 PM CT on June 7, 2026, for U.S. residents 21 and older outside restricted states. All giveaways require a separate entry.

The BANISH VRMT 223 Ti is the newest lightweight titanium varmint can from Banish Suppressors. At just 9.7 ounces and 6.7 inches long, it’s one of the lightest dedicated .224-and-smaller suppressors on the market and yet it still delivers 35+ dB of sound reduction and comes with a fully removable baffle stack for easy cleaning.

First Look & Specs Deep DiveStraight out of the box you get:

  • The all-titanium BANISH VRMT 223 Ti suppressor
  • 1/2×28 direct-thread HUB mount (included)
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Black or FDE Cerakote options

Key Specs

  • Length: 6.7″
  • Weight: 9.7 oz
  • Diameter: 1.5″
  • Baffles: 8 (fully removable & serviceable)
  • Material: 100% titanium
  • Mount: Industry-standard HUB (swap mounts in seconds)
  • Caliber Rating: .17 HMR to .22 Creedmoor (.223/5.56 dedicated)
  • Sound Reduction: 35 dB average (real-world test: 125.7 dB on a 20″ .223 bolt-action)
  • Full-Auto Rating: Limited
  • Self-Service: Yes – clean it yourself forever

The titanium construction keeps weight ridiculously low while the HUB mount gives you future-proof flexibility. Throw it on a precision bolt gun for prairie-dogging or a lightweight AR for quick coyote runs. And it feels like it barely exists on the rifle which is hard to beat.

Why Every Varmint Hunter Needs a Removable-Baffle Suppressor

Varmint and predator hunting means high round counts, even  sometimes hundreds of rounds in a single morning. Lead, powder fouling, and carbon build up fast, especially when you’re running .22 LR, .17 HMR, or even .22 Creedmoor through the same can. Traditional sealed suppressors turn into paperweights once they get gunky. The VRMT 223 Ti solves that with its user-serviceable design. Pop the baffles out, clean everything in 20–30 minutes, and it’s back to whisper-quiet performance. No more sending it off for service or dealing with degraded sound suppression. This is a game-changer for:

  • Coyote hunters who burn through boxes of ammo
  • Prairie-dog shooters on multi-day trips
  • Rimfire plinkers who hate dirty cans
  • Anyone who wants one suppressor that truly handles everything from .17 HMR to .223 without compromise

Step-by-Step: How to Disassemble & Clean the Banish VRMT 223 Ti

The manual makes it stupid-simple (and the baffles index in any order,  no memorizing orientation).

  1. Safety first – Unload firearm, remove suppressor, let it cool.
  2. Remove end cap – Use the supplied end-cap removal tool + T-45 Torx wrench (keyed together for leverage).
  3. Remove breach cap – Use wrench flats and a 1″ or adjustable wrench.
  4. Push baffles out – From the breach-cap end, use the baffle removal tool (or a wooden dowel) to slide all 8 baffles out the end-cap side.
  5. Clean – Soak parts in mild solvent, sonic cleaner, or even dish soap (avoid anything that strips Cerakote). Brush with nylon or brass brush. Recommended every 50–100 rounds.
  6. Reassemble – Stack baffles on a flat surface (tabs aligned with expansion spacer). Slide tube over the stack aligning tabs with internal channels. Hand-tighten end cap to 20–25 in-lbs (or until only the 45° bevel shows — O-ring should not be visible). Reinstall breach cap.

That’s it. No special tools beyond what’s provided or cheap hardware-store items. Your can stays like-new for life.

Range Impressions (First Shots)

On the range the VRMT 223 Ti is exactly what varmint hunters dream about:

  • Weightless feel on a 16–20″ bolt gun — almost like shooting unsuppressed but way quieter.
  • Impressive suppression — that 125.7 dB reading is genuinely ear-friendly even without plugs.
  • Minimal POI shift on bolt guns and negligible on gas guns.
  • No gas blowback issues on semi-autos.
  • Cool-down is fast thanks to titanium.

It’s rated for limited full-auto, so casual mag dumps on an AR are no problem either.

Bottom Line

The Banish VRMT 223 Ti isn’t just another .223 can,  it’s the lightest, most practical varmint suppressor you can buy right now. Titanium construction, HUB versatility, and true user-serviceable baffles make it the one can you’ll actually use every hunt instead of leaving it in the safe. Ready to win it?
